It is with great honor that the family of Jake Lidel would like to offer financial assistance to current and incoming students at Nebraska Transition College. In 2014, the life of Jake Lidel was cut short at the young age of twenty-two. Jake was always a natural athlete, excelling at football and golf. His untold story, however, was that of a protector. He was quick to defend youngsters, he never backed down to bullies, and his fearless attitude made him an irreplaceable ally. Jake’s happiest moments in life were when he was surrounded by friends, teammates, and teachers in school. And so began the journey of hope and healing as we, Jake’s family, decided to encourage others to continue their education through the financial assistance of the Jake Lidel Memorial Scholarship. We encourage your applications, look forward to learning about your journey, and anticipate that perhaps Jake’s story may live on through you, the memorial scholarship recipients. We hope to inspire you to dream big, work hard, achieve your goals, and, most importantly… find what makes you happy.
